The Meditative Hour.
Where Eastern Wisdom Meets Western Artistry in a New Musical Consciousness
Dear Friends,
I’m delighted to announce that I’ll be performing The Meditative Hour with Anders Hagberg—a live concert experience where music becomes a gateway to inner stillness and profound transformation.
Anders Hagberg, a visionary Swedish flutist, saxophonist, and composer, brings decades of artistic practice to this collaboration. As Professor of Musical Performance at the University of Gothenburg, he has dedicated his life to exploring the transformative power of music through genre-crossing improvisation.
An internationally acclaimed soloist with a substantial discography, Anders has also been commissioned to compose for film and dance—creating music that speaks to the deepest dimensions of human experience.
His latest album, With Hope (2025), reflects on the global realities of war and climate change with profound sensitivity, receiving rave reviews worldwide. In Anders, we find an artist who understands that music is medicine, improvisation is meditation, and every note is an invitation to presence.
A Legacy of Presence
This way of playing is a tradition in meditative music that I have been part of for decades. Music and silence. Space to just be. The music helps bring you back to the present when your mind starts to wander. A gentle and beautiful reminder to be here now.
It’s a lovely way to incorporate meditative music into your life and the lives of others. An hour as the perfect “time out” to get back to yourself.
What Is The Meditative Hour?
This is not just another concert. It’s a musical experience designed to benefit your meditation, your music, and your sense of self.
By weaving Eastern meditation principles with Western artistry, we create an environment where:
- Improvised music gently guides you into a meditative state
- Sound becomes a pathway to inner stillness
- Music calms and heals
The Science Behind the Experience
Research shows that meditative music creates measurable changes in how we think and feel:
- Rewires the brain for creativity
- Reduces stress, anxiety, and depression
- Improves focus, attention, and memory
- Enhances self-awareness and emotional regulation
- Promotes better sleep and lowers blood pressure
- Boosts creativity and helps with chronic pain management
What Makes This Different?
Pure Improvisation — No preview recordings exist. Every moment is created live in real time.
Silence as Medicine — No applause between pieces. Silence is an integral part of the meditative experience, allowing you to rest in the spaces between the notes.
Contemplative Atmosphere — A sacred environment honoring the meditative tradition, bringing you to your inner core.
You Will Leave With
- Practical ideas for incorporating meditative practices into your own music
- A direct experience of how Eastern traditions can transform Western music
- An understanding of music as nourishment, not just performance
- A new perspective on improvisation, acoustics, and the purpose of music itself
- A profound meeting with your inner essence
Why This Matters Now
In our hyper-connected world, musicians and audiences hunger for authenticity. We seek music that doesn’t merely entertain—it transforms.
This is the revolution that begins when Eastern wisdom meets Western artistry.
